Class H insulation
Dry-type transformers come in insulation thermal classes such as B, F, H, and C, with corresponding maximum allowable temperatures of 130°C, 155°C, 180°C, and 220°C, respectively. The products utilize DuPont’s new materials and advanced manufacturing processes; the SG(B)-type dry-type transformers produced using these technologies have achieved an insulation thermal class of H, while key components have reached a thermal class of C.
The SG(B) series products are dry-type transformers featuring today’s high safety performance. All insulating materials are non-combustible, self-extinguishing, and non-toxic. The SG(B) series is particularly well-suited for applications with stringent fire protection requirements, significant load fluctuations, and harsh environments characterized by pollution and high humidity—such as airports, power plants, metallurgical facilities, hospitals, high-rise buildings, shopping centers, densely populated residential areas, as well as power stations, subways, ships, petrochemical facilities, and more.
Safety
It demonstrates even greater superiority in special environments such as nuclear power plants and nuclear submarines. Fans and housings can be provided according to user requirements.
Reliable
The special coil design, manufacturing processes, and materials used in the new SG(B) series products deliver outstanding triple-proof performance—protection against moisture, mold, and salt spray—and enable the products to withstand thermal shock without ever cracking. The insulation system, based on aromatic polyamides, maintains excellent electrical and mechanical properties throughout the transformer’s entire service life. These products are resistant to aging, shrinkage, and compression, and boast exceptional elasticity, ensuring that even after several years of use, the coils remain structurally intact and can reliably withstand the stresses of short-circuit conditions.
Environmental protection
The new SG (B) series products can be disassembled, recycled, and reused after their service life, meeting user requirements and overcoming the shortcomings of epoxy-resin-cast dry-type transformers—where the resin and fiberglass are permanently fused into a single unit, making them non-disassemblable and environmentally polluting once their service life is over.
Strong overload capacity
The new SG(B) series products feature a novel structure, advanced materials, and cutting-edge manufacturing processes. They offer excellent heat dissipation performance, long thermal life, and strong overload capacity, enabling them to operate safely and reliably for extended periods even under 120% overload conditions. In an IP23 environment, these units can run at full load continuously without the need for forced air cooling.
